Step-In Cat Harness & Leash Set

A soft mesh vest that your cat steps into rather than one you have to thread over their head. Two padded panels wrap the chest and fasten with a single buckle on top, and the lead clips to a metal D-ring beside it. A 1.5 m (4.9 ft) lead is included, colour-matched to the harness.

Why a vest and not a collar

The load sits across the chest and shoulders instead of the throat, which is the main reason people use a harness for a cat at all. The wide panels also give a cat less of a single strap to wriggle backwards out of.

We'll put that plainly, though: no harness is escape-proof, and a determined cat in a frightening moment can get out of most things. Fit it snugly — two fingers under the panel, no more — and don't treat it as a substitute for supervision outdoors.

Sizing (measure the chest, just behind the front legs)

• S — chest 25–29 cm (9.8–11.4 in)
• M — chest 33–39 cm (13–15.4 in)
• L — chest 38–44 cm (15–17.3 in)

These run to cat and small-dog proportions. If your cat measures between two sizes, size up — the panels are adjustable, and a harness that is slightly loose is easier to fix than one that is too tight.

First time out

Most cats need a few short indoor sessions in the harness before a lead is ever attached. Put it on, feed something good, take it off. That is genuinely the whole technique.

Care

Hand wash in cool water and air dry. The mesh dries quickly; don't tumble dry it.

This one ships direct from our overseas supplier, so plan on 2 to 3 weeks to reach you. Tracking is issued at dispatch but often sits quiet for the first week or so before it starts updating — that's normal for this route and not a sign anything has gone wrong.
